What, Where and When: This Full day clinic will meet with riders ready to ride at 10am on Saturday May 23 at the Pisgah Ranger Station parking lot near Pisgah Forest. We’ll ride a small portion of 276 to 477 then to Clawhammer Rd to Maxwell Cove road. At the intersection of Maxwell Cove Road and Black Mountain Trail at Presley Gap, we will then decide whether the group would like to climb Black Mountain Trail toward Turkey Pen sessioning some features along the way then descending back down Black Mountain to Presley Gap and then on down Black Mountain trail sessioning the remaining features.

The skills focus of this clinic will be improved body movement for climbing and descending stability and efficiency. Using wheel lifts and lightening to improve technical climbing. Using wheel lifts to improve pressure control and create more movement, playfulness and fun on descents! Improving confidence by sessioning features and improving trail vision.

Who: This clinic is for intermediate riders who are looking to ride the Clawhammer→Maxwell→Black Mountain loop for the first time. This is also for riders who find themselves walking the features from Pressley Gap down or any of the features on Lower Black. This is also for riders who want to ride this trail more confidently, with more speed in a supportive space.

Participant benefits: I use video analysis during the clinic to help riders improve their skills. All riders will receive a link to all of the photos and videos taken during the clinic. Participants will receive a thorough write up of the skills and maneuvers learned during the clinic so that riders may use them to continue their learning beyond this clinic.
